The old race car I got off of wayne has a roll cage, but I believe that it is an older one and no longer CAMS approved ...didn't know that
they were so costly......

Passed on message as previously mentioned

DATSUN 1600 OWNERS DRIVE (and other performance Datsuns/Nissans are OK
too)
- OK PERTH OZDATTERS, IT IS ON THIS SUNDAY 9th SEPTEMBER.

Now that I have your attention, here are the details;

On Sunday 9th September,
meet at the South Beach carpark (the northern end), South Fremantle at
8am
sharp.(yeah I know it's early for a Sunday morning ;oP )
Then drive to Wungong Dam to watch the Classic Rally hill climb event
from
9-11am.
Access is only possible via Admiral Road for this event.
Then we have lunch, check out each others vehicles and chat, then go
driving
around the hills for a bit. If we're all still keen, drive to the
Burswood
Dome (next to the casino) to watch the Classic Rally autokhana inside
the
Dome from 2:30-5:30pm.

Tell your Datsun-owning friends, it should be a
great day out. I have quite a few people on my list and have even
pulled
over complete strangers driving 1600's to tell them about this event.
Everyone I have spoken to will be there.

C U there,
Rob

Was the ute a 1200?

The reason I ask is that I saw a 1000 ute in midland very smick Bright yellow, low as, huge rims/diff.......disconcertingly quite...showroom condition panel and paint.... youngun
at the wheel. Had to quickly ask at lights what type of ute it was, looked way too wide for
datto....

From standard rim (as fitted) the general rule is up a rim size, one profile down and same width tyre or down a profile size and next size
wider.

I am running 195/60/14 on a 6.5 rim on my coupe...so with a 13 rim you would go up a series in profile like 195/70/13 or run with 205/60/
13...I think???

Usually a tyre store will/can tell you what size will fit.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 1200 coupe dash, but was wondering if there are others that can be easily modified
to fit in?

plus.....

I love the look of those blue luminated dials, but i think they are only for newer models, anyone know
otherwise??

I've just found out that I need a new set of points, condenser and distributer on my datsun 1200 with an A14.....so much for the tune up 3 months ago......arggghh.... Will any
datsun/nissan do, or are there better ones then others??...any suggestions?

One suggestion was to use elchin points and a 120Y dizzy as it has less vacuum advance.

I'm pretty sure that datwreck sell them, or can get them.........about 110
bucks each.
One panel beater said that they needed a fair bit of work to get them to
align 'perfectly'

Cool.....I still have the other one that is red with flames and pictures of the mighty
datto.

The die cast model of the sunny (1200), are they still availiable, do we need a model
code to order.
