Hi Guys, You guys dont know your datto history all that well do you folks. What do you need to know as l have one of these wagons & a ute as well. It isn't a van, it's a two door wagon(the backseat folds down) or model name u320. The Van model(V320) has no windows in the side & no folding backseat? If you do see one with windows in it it's wagon stripped of it's insides. Parts are avaiable including lens & etc.. Question, why has the datsun plate on the firewall is marked 1965 in the photo??? If it's a 65 model, it would have been the last of the range because they was replaced by the 340 models in 1965? If you see a double cab 2 door version (Datsun was the first to bring double cabs to oz)you have seen a rare model as there was only 20 a year sold in oz & 20 still going oz wide( most in n.s.w.)? The wagon was sold about 200 a month oz wide, same for the ute, but less sold for the sedan model? They all was call bluebird 310, 315 & 320 series. l personly have all parts list books all these bluebird models & the original sales leaflet is available online. Contact Me on email address on my profile here on this site. Happy Dattoing

Hi all,
I have owned datto's most of my life starting with a bluebird 1200's (still have) ute then 1000 sedans (all gone) & 1200 ute today. My family has had datto's since they was brought to oz by SIR Lance hartlett in 1960 in oz. My father worked at the first Victorian counrty dealer for datto's, Coles Motors Colac. My father did remember when he first drove one & got booed for driving it. Those persons who did that later started driving them. . .? History is lovely. Stay safe everyone Bruns

Hi All
In australia these 1200 coupes had vinyl over all of the roof, not half the roof like yours & they harbour rust under the vinyl too...? The spoiler was a u.s.a. item, not sold in Oz & the paint looks to me being a aftermarket paint colour as this colour isn't adailable in Oz including the sticker on the side. Datsun did release spiced up models in your country, maybe one of them...? Best of luck in rebuilding her. Your cheerfully from oz. Bruns

Hi all, A great car, looks to be in good order. The Price for the car would only be about $1.000 for the car in your area. One that is rusted is on only worth about 50 bucks & l live in your area & own one of these cars(4d sedan, ke55). Great car & kids in this area(Geelong -Colac) would love to get this to drive around a paddock. Parts are now hard to get & toyota no longer keep anything in stock. Repco would have some parts & as would autopro has some parts for them Be like me keep spares on hand & will save you alot of problems in the furture. The cost of rust removal will cost me apart $5.000 probably done.

Hi 62 bluebird,
Keep it stock as l have done with my 63 bluebird ute. l do have a rare model like yours & have original motor in it. Make the shore the head is in good working order as they can crack the head. Engine parts are not hard to get, but body parts are hard to get. Engine gaskets are advalable at repco australia. Some bluebird have been remotored with a 1300 or 1500 engine which will fitt in with problems. Personal leave it original as possable. Bruns

Now your talking ruckus, but a ke 55 with a efi plus a super charger 1300 engine with a lowered body in ''pimp my ride'' style. COOL.
