hey mate, is the bonnet still available ? and if it is ... how is it rust wise ? paint i'm not fussed and minor rust is ok, but major might be an issue ? also is the bracing still fixed to the skin or has it separated ?

If penrite's good enough for your motors Benny then my lowly a12 should relish in the fresh lube !!

hey all,
been a while since the ol'1200 has had a fresh oil run through it !!

whats the oil of choice these days in the A series ?
i'm running A12, twin carbs, elec ignition and the motor revs out to 8k regularly ?

havent looked at oils for years really ?!! ahahhha

so if you have one you like could you post up

brand
weight
why you like it

If you're handy at a little machining you could look at combining the bluebird elec dizzy with the a series's points shafts and then recurving

I'd definitely recommend it to anyone that hasn't had theirs done.
Improves the whole motor response/power across the rev range.

Good luck with it !! Fantastic to see people who still know how the 'old stuff' works and actually want to keep on using it and improving it. Instead of chucking it for newer out of period gear
