has anyone got a good 5 speed they are willing to sell in melbourne or tassie. Im after the one out of the sunny (B210?), with 5th as overdrive. I have been told that it
should bolt straight on with out too much fuss.

Regards,
Andrew

I am about to replace the second gearbox in my 1200 coupe since I put an A14 under the bonnet. What is a better gearbox than the old 1200 that goes in without too many mods ie 120Y,
Sunny, or whatever the A14 comes with. If anyone has a 5 speed Sunny geargox and live in Melbourne or Tassie I would be very interested (if the price is nice). Otherwise a good 4
speed will have to do.

Regards,
Andrew.

what would be the best diff to replace the old one in my 1200 coupe ie 120y or newer.

Ps Ive just put the A14 engine in with a webber and extractors off the old A12 and it has heaps more power than I expected. Does anyone know what the stats are for the A14 in
comparison to the A12 and A15.

What is the best 4 speed gearbox to put into a 1200 coupe with an A14 engine without
too many modifications???
Will the gearbox from a pulsar (with an A14 engine) fit without many modifications???
What 5 speed gearbox will go in a 1200 coupe and what vehicle can I get one out of???

I've already asked about a four or five speed for that will go into my coupe without too many modifications, but i still need to know what four speed gearbox will fit in
other than the standard 1200 gearbox. I would prefer to put the latest model gearbox in, such as a 84 model Pulsar - will this or a 120Y gearbox fit????

Ive already posted this message but I didn't get a reply. Im after a gear box for my 1200 coupe because the old one has blown up. Ive got an A14 engine installed and Im
wondering what gearboxes will go in (I don't particularly want to put a 1200 gear box in because they are old). Will the 84pulsar gearbox go in? or what about a 120y
one?
Is there a 5 speed that goes in without too many mods?
Can anyone could recomend a gearbox that will go in without much modifying?
Thanks,
Andrew

Will the gearbox from the 84pulsar go into the 1200. (I have an A14 in my coupe and Im told it came from the 84pulsar). What other gearboxes will fit into the coupe with little
or no modifications. Im looking for the newest ones instead of putting an old 1200 one back in. Also Ive herd that there is a 5 speed that bolts up to the A14, what model car
is it out of.

Andrew.

When I put the A14 in my 1200 i removed the fuel pump because it gets in the way when you move the mounts forward. I replaced the pump with an electric one and bolted a plate over the fuel
pump hole.
Before you modify the engine mounts first make sure you have the engine bolted up to the gearbox and sitting in exactly the right possition. If the engine sits off line then it will put
uneven tension on the mounts.
To modify the mounts you can use the right engine mount off the 1200 on both sides then you need to weld a plate to the mount so that it sits further forward - this is obvious when the
engine is sitting in the right possition. If you don't know how to weld then bolt the modified plate to the mount and to the engine, making sure that the engine sits right then unbolt the
mount from the engine with the plate still bolted to the mount, this way it can be welded out of the car.
Also remember that if you are using the exhaust manifold or extractors off the 1200 then you will have to sit the engine as low as possible because the A14 block is taller than the A12 and
your exhaust may touch the underneath of the car.

Good Luck,
Andrew

A14 distributor problem

Ive installed the A14 engine in my 1200 and im having a problem with wiring the distributor. The 1200 distributor has one point where the negative lead from the coil connects, but the
A14 engine has two. Is one the earth? I have the coil wired correctly and it has power to it but it seems that no matter how i connect the distributor up i still cant get a good spark
out of the coil, and I have tested the coil and it is not the problem. There is also no spark in the distributor.

PS. Im not an electrician!

I know ive already asked questions on this before but i want to get more conformation on what to do with the lower control arms and castor rod. When i measured the stanza one with the
original 1200 lower control arm thay are nearly identical so why cant i just use the original 1200 castor rods and lower control arm?
I was also told that I can use 120y lower control arm and castor rods, can anyone confirm this for me? and If so what modle should I get them from?

PS Once this problem is sorted out my datsun will be back on the road after going through a huge rebuild including respray (midnight blue),A14 engine conversion, extractors, cortina
webber,etc... Im going to set up a website when its finished and Ill post the adress for those who are interested. Most importantly though! is that it has only been made possible thanks to
this great club!!!
