Well here's the refference link that I will base the upgrade on:
http://www.datnet.org/new/techinfo/1000brakeupgrade.shtml
Let you know how it goes (unless you have some better suggestions worth looking into that is)

Done done and done,
Just replaced the alternator bearings and the other stuff that came with the kit. good as new, even took the dents out from the hammer :).
Now for those Ford( think they're still called escorts if they're in the states) Laser KC brakes.....

the one I used to drive had parcel shelf and a tacho. Gotta be happy if there's a tacho there mate.
I think only the coupe came with the tacho, although maybe the wagon did as well as it had the 5 speed gbox option.
Paid $2000 for the coupe with 4 months rego and that was in 98 so I reckon you're on the money there.
piad 2800 for my dato ute so I reckon they hold their value.

I have a dato 1000 ute. It has a A12 :) in it.
Am planning on fitting disks on the front from a laser KC model (already have specs and shopping list for this). But I am after some recommendations for a sidedrft carby and extractor setups. Any tips?
Possibly need to replace alternator too as I think it can only be hit with a hammer to stop the ignition light coming on so many times :(.
I have the workshop and factory manuals for it if anyone needs info.
Cheers,
S

OK Listers,
I know someone can help me with this simple question.
I have just replaced the dizzy on my A12 (currently sitting in a 1000 ute:) with a newer one from a 81' Sunny. The mounting plate needed swapping over and it fits fine.
There is an extra wire connection on the new dizzy which is situated on the vacuum advance.
What is it supposed to connect to??? ie the old dizzy did'nt have this 'male' wire connector.
Thanks,
Sachman
