Hi All,
Unfortunatly i am selling my labor of love!!

1 x 1974 Datsun 1200 Ute
- Body work is 95% complete and needs another 5-10 hours to prep for final paint.
Mods to body: Tailgate has been shaved and e welded. Front apron has been cutout to fit intercooler and radiator
mounting and piping exactly. Fuel cap has been patched and welded closed.
- Running Gear: Ute has skyline r31 front and read end. rear diss is Borgwarner LSD and has been shortened and
resplined, attached to brand new leafs and shocks supplied by maddat. front struts also off r31 have been modified to
suit (by maddat) and have slotted rotors. Gearbox is a 'stumpy' so no tunnel mod needed and is ready to go. Also
colapsable steering colum supplied and fitted, also from maddat..
- Engine mount, gearbox mount, brake and clutch booster setup, accelerator cable, tri strut brace and sway bar all
supplied by maddat. Also all new control arms and front end steering setup all new from maddat.

2 x CA18DET engines
- main engine for the ute was originally the engine used in the NIS15L yellow ute. it has been striped down and
cleaned and i have added a 6Boost top mount manifold and Garret GT3076r turbo (ceramic coated) with a turbosmart wastegate.
- Custom made radiator, overflow tank and electric thermo fan, intercooler and all piping to suit. , built by race engine
specialist in sydney
- second CA is a spare which is complete, used for parts mainly just in case.. was told it had a compression issue on
third cylinder. would suit rebuild or spare parts..
- Has original CPU only but the build was going to be based on a Haltech PS1000..

Also have many other accessories, original heater boxes, original dash displays and clusters, bumpers, pedal box, 2 x sets of TRX wheels, 1 set is good other set just used to make the car movable. have all sparco accessories to complete interior including leather bucket seats, ( original rails already fitted to suit), pedals, steering wheel, gear stick and boot, handbrake and boot, fire extinguisher, boss kit, surge tank with 2 x bosch 044, empty original NOS bottle (only for display).. many more items included like, door trims, glass, engine stands and cranes ect...

i am looking to have it gone ASAP! make an offer i wont be offended, just looking to recoup what i can but whoever buys it will be getting an absolute bargain!

i am thinking about selling my beloved 1200 ute project.. i have recently been reassigned overseas for work and dont see any point in holding on to the ute.. i am going to try and list everything as best as possible. i have included a pic of just before it went off to the body shop..

- 1974 Datsun 1200 ute - complete shell, inc. panels, doors, windscreen (front and back) and windows.. Body is pretty good, straight and nearly no rust (apart from surface after recent paint strip treatment).. has a modified front apron and radiator support to fit custom made intercooler (behind the apron and grill), and also has the tornau cover hooks and tailgate latches cut off in preparation to be shaved and cleaned up.. purchased for $1500.00, have spent another $800.00 on minor body work that has started as mentioned..

- CA18DET number 1 - mostly complete engine removed from a 1200 ute (previous conversion), has been pulled apart and checked/cleaned. It has an upgraded brand new 6 boost top mount manifold along with a garret gt3076r turbo and turbosmart wastegate. the plenum and rocker covers have been polished and had some minor modification done to fit braided hoses. turbo manifold is ceramic coated along with the snail on the turbo (over $5000.00 spent)

- along with the above mentioned i have had a custom made radiator, (with catch/overflow can and pro street spec thermo fan), and a custom made intercooler, along with all the piping, and a custom made dump pipe as well. (over $3500.00 spent)

- CA18DET number 2 - i bought this as a spare engine. it came out of a working 180sx but has low compression on the 3rd cylender, would suit rebuild or spare parts.. ($350.00 spent)

- reconditioned (by maddat) r31 stumpy gearbox with ca bell housing (aprox $550.00 inc gearbox and mods)

- r31 rear LSD diff, shortened and resplined (aprox $1500.00 inc diff and mods)

- r31 front struts (modified by maddat to suite 1200), also have slotted rotors (aprox $500.00 inc mods)

- top (tri bar) and bottom sway braces (maddat) $670.00

- rebuilt front end (maddat) $595.00

- short throw shifter (maddat) $120.00

- brake booster master bracket and clutch (maddat) $780.00

- heavy duty clutch pedal (maddat) $80.00

- lowered rear springs and adjustable koni shocks (maddat) $880.00

- engine and gearbox x member kit (maddat) $540.00

- front bumper used (aprox $75.00)

- garret turbo blanket (aprox $100.00)

- new plastic grill

- custom made stainless steel grill

- CA18DET power steering pump (aprox $180.00)

- 2 x heater boxes used

- 2 x pedal boxes used

- 3 x various dash instrument cluster surround

- 1 x center console (i think its from a coupe)

- 2 x set of 4 trx wheels used (aprox $1000.00) 1 set good 1 set not so good

- 2 x new non genuine front guards (aprox $120.00)

- 1 x central locking kit (aprox $140.00)

- 1 x electric window kit (aprox $90.00)

- new AA Gasket kit for CA18DET

- new set of bonnet hinges (aprox $30.00)

- new boss kit (aprox $45.00)

- collapsable steering colum supplied by maddat (aprox $175.00)

- fibre glass door and kick panels (aprox $50.00)

- dash frame

- set of seat rails (slightly modified to suit sparco seat mounting holes)

- Following brand new sparco gear
- 2 x sparco R100 sky seats black
- 1 x sparco volante p104 sport steering wheel
- 2 x sparco 4 point harness black
- 1 x set of sparco settanta series gear knob and boot, handbrake handle and foot pedals
- 1 x sparco p260 steering wheel (bit small to use)
- 1 x polished small fire extinguisher
sparco total - over $2000.00

total outlay so far as you can see is over $20,000.00, not to mention how much time has gone into this car.

i am looking to see if anyone is interested in buying as is still needing the body and paint done and then being assembled. as you can see almost everything you need is there..

i am not looking to get back every single dollar spent but looking to salvage what i can before i head overseas. if not i will put it in storage..

open to reasonable offers. pm me if interested. i am away for a week as of tomorrow so please leave your contact info and i will be in touch when i return.

p.s. had a few pm's on selling parts but i am not interested in parting it out as i will be keeping the project in storage unless i can sell the whole lot.. i am happy to sell all parts and keep the shell..

Hi all, just wondering what you are all doing or have done with the spare whee on your 1200 utes?
I am looking for an idea on where to put it as i am cleaning the underneath and taking out the spare wheel section and also fitting out the tray so might have a spot in there.

Would love to see some picks of some neat setups if anyone has done anything with their spare...
