My main concern was retaining an alternative and you have a proven real world experience.

Thanks for the quick response DD.

Any idea how often I should inspect for wear? I was only under there to do Shackle bushes etc when I noticed them in the first place!

Greetings!

I am looking for the pads that go between the leaves in a leafspring pack for my 120ute and 1000 coupe.

They are both a 2" wide spring, the 1000 has a circular locater, the 1200 square.

I have drawn a rough picture with measurements:

Can I sikaflex something close in?

Thanks for any leads/advice,

Mike

Looks like fun!

Any chance of getting a street car out there or would it just be embarrassing?

Photobucket want people to pay $500 for 3rd party viewing of images.

Very Poor Form.

What I have found, in general. . .

Small Stub big Bearing - 1000, 1200 and late 120Y(PBR Caliper)
Large Stub small bearings - Early 120Y

But, struts have been interchanged between models for years. . .

I'm a big fan of using dishwasher powder. 2 table spoons ish

Heat and cool the system a few times.
(bring car up to temp, a short drive to get the thermostat open and everything flowing)

Flush, back flush and flush again . . . and again a few weeks later. . .

Repeat as necessary.

It will corrode the aluminium head, timing case etc, so you want to get it out in and out ASAP.

The Malpassi unit worked for me.

The Big drama I had was air/fuel mix getting blown out of the throttle shaft bushes. Make sure the shaft bushes are in good condition or new.

Good to so you still at it.
I really should pull my finger out and get back to (one of) mine. . .

I'm thinking of going back to 6 monthly rego so I get motivated twice a year!

Keep up the good work, it gives us all inspiration.
