His dad is apparently a very well known custom hot rod builder? Won awards etc.. so i reckon with dads know how and handy work.. no idea what aaron does though
Dude seriously just spend $30 and get yourself a new set.
dude even if i had some 2nd hand ones how much could i possibly sell them for? $10-$15?? hardly worth getting off my ass to grab them from the garage.!
mate these electric blowers are designed for cars 1.6L and under.
Now with ur 3L V6 its gonna suck more air than the blower can supply so ur not gonna get much boost, if any. Boost is made when the blower is pushing more air in than the car can suck, therefore creating pressure in the inlet.
Did u hook up a boost guage 2 see if u were getting any boost? with the size of ur engine, and the size/power of the electric blower ur probably choking the magna.
hook it up to a charade/swift/sirion/1200 etc and see how u go.
Im not sticking up 4 the product as i dont know much about it.. but i do know for a fact that they are for real small engines, not a V6!
I got a 42mm Garrett External Wastegate that i will be using for my draw through carby turbo L18.
This wastegate is a DUAL PORT wastegate. This means that it has 2 ports -
One on the side to push the wastegate open (push against the spring). This i believe is to be connected to the inlet manifold to wastegate actuator.
The other right at the top of the gate, (this port helps push WITH the spring, hance raise opening pressure for wastegate - to be used when using an EBC). in my case i wont be using this top port.
Now, i tested the wastegate by applying presure from a compressor to open the gate using the side port. Fair enuf it works. but when i apply pressure, air comes out from the top port..
is this supposed to happen???
now i believe this could be dangerous as when running on a draw through setup, this air comming out from the top wont be just Air...
IT WOULD BE AIR AND FUEL MIX!!!!
sounds dangerous to me...
now is my gate stuffed?? or should i just plumb the volitile mix comming from the top of the gate back to the carby inlet..??? HELP PLEASEEEEEE>>>>
