Hi, i jst recently pulled my a12 engine out to paint the engine bay of my 1200 coupe. I was looking at adding a new carb to my stock engine. Has anyone got any ideas on what carbs i should get i want something that is pretty easy to fit and not too expensive, i live in NZ, auckland, so if anyone knows of a place in auckland that is quite clued up bout datsuns it'd be great if u could give me thier address.
Cheers Karlos.

I have looked at your pics and was wondering what sized tyres you have on those 15" wheels and whether you had to do any guard work to fit them in there?

Plese reply, cheers

What exactly is a rim offset? As u can tell im new 2 this game. All I know bout my wheels is that the car is 2 inches lower than standard. All I want to know is what sized wheels with tyres will fit nicely all round without flaring the guards. Does this mean that the tyre ratio must be 60 or lower? If you know please reply
cheers TK

I was just wondering what wheel size is quite good for a lowered 1200 coupe. I have tried 185/70/13 these fit on the back alright but rub nearly everywhere on the front. Im trying to get a low look without having to put skirting on the sides and front. I also thought that larger mags with a lower tire ratio might help. If anyone has any comments on this topic please help.
Cheers.

Oh yeah i was wondering if it is the gearbox do I need to replace the whole thing and if so is it possible to put in other types of 4 speeds other than another 1200 gearbox. Thanks for all the replies.

Yes the engine does go and it doesn't sound sick at all, theres just no gears at all. I think the clutch is engageing but dont know how to check to see if it is. The only other thing that I can think of is possibly the diff. As you can probably tell i dont know too much about cars, but im thinking that it is most likely the gearbox, right?

Whilst trying to perform a standstill, my datto went bang. After this I lost all gears. Is this because my gearbox is stuffed or is it possibly something worse. Please help inexperianced dato enthusiast.
