sorry but the engine and auto transmission were kept by the people I bought the auto 1200 from, as spares for their fleet of 120y's.

Well insurance is another business where it is also about who you know , Ill worry bout that when the car is road worthy...
Could you let me know the detaills about the tow... name + number perhaps, this service isn't dragging the car behind some hassle is it?
Do you know any available A series 5 speeds on the island?

Well its about who u know not what u know...

That old dog looks pretty solid, I could definately spare a bonnet... Really I want to set up a nice road car so Im looking for reliability and drivability...rather than outright performance... I think an A15 would would be more than enough. I got to register on zhaust, but havent gotten around to that. The spare shell needs welding in places, but if its going to be for a spare for a Bushy Park car, it might be woth your bother I dont know... Will post pics as soon as I can...

PS... Looking for a cheap wrecker service or a car trailor to transport a 1200 shell... with all those connections, I thought you might know something... thanx

Just trying to get one car from the two 1200's I have,. (Graeme Hall). Got am A12 engine, which works for now. I checked Ullyet, but nothing there... just junk.

Bought a 1200 recently on the grounds that the engine started and it was able to drive it self out of the tangle of vines which embraced it...well it cost me $50 us. It has the newer a12 engine, with the alternator mounted higher up on the driver side. Here in Barbados the climate destroys most of those old datsuns leaving only a few garaged old folk putters,The body while more or less solid resembles a swiss cheese with a clear view of the road and front wheels from the front seats... luckily i found another shell but it's an automatic, I highly doubt I'll be finding a manual one .

I plan on dropping my engine and tranny into the automatic shell (4Dr), the automatic shell had the older a12 engine with the alternator lower down on the right side... What modifications need to be carried out to get the manual box in the automatic shell and will there be any trouble in getting the clutch pedal and clable in? will the drive shaft be the same length or will i need to use a manual one? Any help appreciated.
