I fixed a holley to be a mechanical secondary by using a piece of garabge wire :P it worked great for me, gave the car alot more response when I 'floored' it, having a fair accelerator pump will almost entirely eliminate the flat spot if you decide to use this mod.
heres a pic

hey everyone, can anyone tell me what a good method is to correctly tune idle mixture screw and the slow idle screw, assuming the tuning on the two is way off?
the car is a 79 210 with an a14 in it.

well, now its at the point where it will run fine until it is almost fully warmed up, at that point the engine will barely idle and fall flat on its face when I try to accelerate, it also blows a big ploom of black smoke when I start it up (power valve problem?) but I saw saw no way to change the power valvhe when I rebuilt the carb. the car wont stumble almost at all when I completely block off the secondary intake. right now I have almost all teh vacuums except the advance for the dizzy blocked off, and it seems to run best like this. Any advice?

hey everyone, I justr recently rebuilt the carburetor on my 79 a14, seeing as how it was running poorly and it failed emissions. The problem for the emissions was fixed, it was just the float level, but now the carb has a great deal of new problems. firstly I did the job with no vacuum diagrams and now im unsure if the vacuums are hooked up correctly. the car now idles shakey, but stable, however when the throttled is depressed past half way causes the car to bog, or die. if you press the accelerator pedal constantly, it will stay alive. It has absolutley no power when driving, the only way to keep it from bogging down completley is to ride the clutch the whole way.

hey everyone, im new to datsuns and ive just bought (not sure exactly which year) 210 wagon, nice blue, very little rust and it has a 5-speed. The engine is the a14. Im located in langley BC and I was wondering which is the best forum to join as I haven't been able to find any 210 specific sites.
the front grille has the 4 light setup and the datsun D in the middle, I dont have the car home yet so I havent been able to get a very good look.
