Asking $2000.

The skinny:
81 B310 wagon. I'm the third owner. Car has 102k original miles. It's a California spec car that lived in Sacramento from 1981 until 2005 when I bought it. A15+5speed combination. Very nice condition with a very straight body, with only a few noticeable blemishes and mostly rust-free, with very minor surface stuff peeking out in a spot or 2.

Previous owner is an Audi mechanic and did the following:
-200SX rear swaybar
-Tokico rear shocks
-Koni 'red' front strut inserts
-lowering springs
-Supertrapp muffler and welded up his own cat-back.
-head unit, amp, sub, and speakers
-clutch and master cylinder in '05

Since '05, I've done:
-new interior carpet (black)
-battery, cables, and alternator
-spark plugs and wires (NGK)
-cap and rotor (BorgWarner)
-all fluids and filters
-belts and hoses
-vacuum lines
-thermostat, and other small cooling system parts
-hatch struts
-washer fluid pump

Issues:
-juddery front brake rotors (new Mountain rotors included in sale)
-Heater core has been bypassed (leak)
-AC is working, but in need of a recharge

The car has been very reliable, I've put about 10,000 miles on it now, much of that on long-distance trips, most recently a trip from Milwaukee to Topeka KS in September, where I put 1500 miles on in 3-4 days.

The worst body blemish. Previous owner did this.

Interior (yes, I need to vacuum it...). Also, the center console and shift-boot have since been re-installed.

Engine starts right up and runs/idles nicely. It's been using about 1/2 a quart of oil in 5000 miles though.

Totally rust-free floor and rust-free underneath.

I'm down to just 2. My Datsun and a '95 Pontiac Bonneville that I bought for 500 U.S. pesos. I may be getting my old Volvo 240 back soon, but I don't think I want it, lol.

Circa-1981 A15 - What's the oil pressure switch thread size?

So, yeah, planning to put a oil pressure dial in my 1981 Datsun with an A15 motor.

But, the problem I have is that the car isn't here atm and I don't know the size/pitch of the threads on the oil-pressure switch. The Autometer guage I plan to use has an SAE thread, and I need an adapter, because I'm certain the Datsun's is metric. Does it have a 10mm, 12mm, 14mm or 16mm fitting? It looks like a 10mm in the pictures of the part, but internets pics can be decieving and all that...

So, who knows the thread size? Normally I could just go and pull the part and see for myself, but that's not an option right now

Have fun with it :) I've got an '81 210 as well.

Is yours a sedan, coupe, or wagon?

So, in theory, all post-1974 A-series engines with the rear-mounted distributors could use that cam? Interesting. The distributor in my car is definitely located way down and way back, behind and above the mechanical fuel pump.

Argh! Engines can be so aggravating with their changes and differences!

There's a Nismo dealer on the East Coast that sells the Nismo camshafts for the A-series motors.

Nismo parts

If 40 thousandths off the head is enough to bring my compression up to 10:1, I might just go to the first standard overbore on my rebuild. No sense farting around with pistons, I guess.

My A15 is in need of a rebuild. I've found a good local shop to do it, and I intend to go for a performance-oriented rebuild. I plan to have a .487/300 cam put in during the rebuild, as well as the requisite lifters.

I know the A15 is a 76x82mm bore and stroke, and has a 9.0:1 compression ratio. I would like to go up to a 10:1 to 11:1 (Does this sound like a good number for a street A15?) or so compression ratio, and I'm going to have to do this with pistons, because A14 heads with heart-shaped chambers aren't growing from the trees in Wisconsin.

What are people using for pistons to go up in compression? Flat-tops, I'm assuming? I don't know what the factory pistons look like, so I'm not sure how extreme we have to get to see that increase.
I'm not sure where I'm going to get pistons. What vehicles out there have a similar boreXstroke with more aggressive crowns and possibly shorter strokes? What are the standard overbores? 76.5 to 77.5? 77 to 78? There's got to be another Nissan engine or something from Ford or Subaru or something with pistons that can be adapted to fit? I'm open to suggestions guys :D I've been searching and not finding a whole lot.

Finally. My plans are as follows:
-Rebuilt A15 with the .487/300 cam and the 10:1ish compression ratio/bored cylinders.
-MSD 6A + Blaster 2 coil
-Weber 32/36 DGEV carb
-Header/extractor and a straight pipe
What sort of power figures can I expect at the crank with that kind of setup? Thanks for the help!
