Free for the taking, 120Y A12. Was given to me a couple of years ago but I have never used it. I am now moving house and want to get rid of it. It is a complete engine less accessories (alternator, starter etc). Only catch is that new owner must bring enough muscle with them to remove it. I cannot afford any more chiropractic bills. Ring me on 0419 706266. Barry

Thanks ddgonzal, I missed the curve figures on Wiki when I searched the technical section.
By the way, anybody know whether vacuum advance units are still available for E15 distributors? Barry

Can anyone help me out with the centrifugal and vacuum advance curves for a standard A12 mechanical distributor. I am thinking of using a pointless dizzy with a programmable ignition kit published by Silicon Chip. You can program any sort of ignition curves into this kit.

I was sitting here thinking about the three cars that I own and thought I would share my thoughts:
89 Toyota Cressida. Ownedr for over 10yrs, bought when I still had kids at home as family transport. Very comfortable to drive with reasonable handling and performance from the 3L 24V 6cyl engine. Great car but suffering in recent years from blown head gasket and overheating, typical problems from aging 7MGE engines.
05 Subaru WRX. This is my second WRX (2 yrs each on company lease). Explosive performance once you get the turbo wound up, brilliant handling and brakes. I love going for blasts on winding country roads in this car. Even though the performance is there if you want it, it is docile enough for my wife to trickle around in traffic. Shortly to be replaced by a new Golf GTI with the trick DSG gearbox. Hope it is as much fun.
73 Datsun 1200. Lightly modified (120Y disk brake struts, 13" mags with 185/65 rubber, sports exhaust, 120Y top hung accelerator pedal, 12" steering wheel, stiffer shocks, Mazda front seats, Skyline door pockets). I take this car to work a couple of days each week and it is a fun car to drive, very nimble in traffic, handles like a gokart with the light weight, small steering wheel and stiff suspension. Heel and toe gear changes are magic with the light clutch and top hung pedal, better than any other manual car I have owned. I looks a bit tatty at the moment with some body damage still being repaired but I cannot bear to part with it. If only it had 10 times the HP!!!
Long post but I hope not boring. Barry

Bought this speedo head on EBay, supposedly from a 1200 coupe dash, but it's different from mine because cable appears to clip on instead of screwing on. It is made by VDO Australia. Anybody recognise it? Barry

Thanks for the offers guys. The parts are for a 73 1200 sedan. I have found some parts in Brisbane that I haven't seen yet and if they do not pan out I will get back to you.

Anybody in Brisbane (or Australia) have a sedan bootlid or sedan taillights in good condition they would be willing to part with?

Can anyone recommend a good place to get rust repairs done in Brisbane (Australia)? Not many panel shops are interested these days and want a small fortune for repairs. Barry
