Up for sale is my long term project 1000 coupe.

Unfortunately i have lost all motivation in finishing this car so my lose is some one else's gain.

The car comes with most of the parts as it was a completed car before i pulled it apart.
In boxes are all the chrome trims, interior parts, lights, glass etc etc
also in boxes are parts to go with the engine and disc brake parts of a turbo xr6.

The shell has been stripped back to bare metal with a couple of 10cent coin sized rust holes patched up, new floors and transmission tunnel also all the holes in the engine bay have been filled up and the whole car has been seem welded with the engine bay fully welded also around the front of the car from the a piller to the radiator support and down to the chassis has had a 3mm angle welded in to strengthen the front end.

The car has had a mx-5 1.6 liter engine fitted to it with an auto gearbox i also have a manual as well that will come with the car.

It does need alot of work to be finished but if you where after a clean shell with parts to do a restoration on another car this would be perfect.

Pm me if you need any more info as it has been sitting for 5 years and i cant remember it all off my head.

just to clear up some confusion, all im saying is for a turbo charged car, of any sort you should always try and run a manulised auto (again unless sequential manual) as the boost will always stay on plus its softer on the driveline you all know how weak datsun diffs are.

car has not been dynoed yet or raced proplerly im estimating it has around 190kw at the wheels with the setup (haltech boost, injectors blah blah blah basing this of mates cars and other set ups at the workshop i go to)

as for the speed 170 that was done on a race track though not racing i was playing around when i went out to a track day, i was there helping a friend with his car. (i only said this to give an idea of gearing and speed with rpm)

give me a couple of weeks and ill take it to the drags and see what it does (waiting on new diff center)

also for the comparisons with manual and auto, when i was comparing, it was against a mates car whos set up has not changed and my car was significantly quicker than it with the auto compared to the manual (as boost stay on because you dont have to keep spooling up every gear change)

as with the price you can build a manualised jatco $1300

mine was more as i have other things done inside the box.

I have a manualised re jatco behind my sr20 with a sequential shifter, it was built by bms transmissions and all i can say is i will never put a manuel in a turbo car again (unless holinger sequential).

For starters you dont have to spool up the turbo between shifts = faster car (i don't care who says it isn't, i have driven both manual and manualised auto in the same car and engine setup)

also as for downshifting it works fine just like the manual.

Keep the box oil cool and you dramtically increase the autos life ( i run a thermoed fan oil cooler with -6 lines)

I have 4.56s in the rear and the car happily goes 170km plus i think 4800rpm have not gone faster (was on race track)

as for price you can spend up to $5000 for a fully built box to handle 600 700 hp, mine was about $2500 with cooler and lines + shifter, next thing is built converter around $600, also for around $1300 you can manualise a jatco.

Hope this clears some things up.

not really the doors have these cool lines and the utes are much physically bigger but if u have the $$ any thing is doable but i highly doubt that the rb26 will fit inas the engine bay isnt that long also the 1500 has a full chassis and u can legally put a 5.3 liter engine in them so u can put something better then an rb
