The radiator got pushed back to the engine. Not sure how much engine damage there was.
Both front panels got pushed back past the doors.

The panel beaters dont seem real keen on sourcing old parts and panels. They prefer todays plastic and aluminium foil cars instead of trying to fix the good old metal cars.

It wasnt my fault. This guy was going the other direction and turned in front of me.
I hit him in the front passenger corner.
I pushed his bullbar back onto his front wheel.
Datto1200 vs BigMutha 4WD wasnt a real good match up 8)
I am looking around to see what I can get. I would like to get another ute, but they are a bit hard to come by around here.

Something BAD happened today.I was driving to work in the wonderful rain, and a f#$%wit in a 4wd decided to turn across in front of me to bag a car park on my side of the road.
The idiot was about 4 or 5 car lengths from me when he turned in and then when he saw me, he stopped where he was in my lane. Between the short distance and the rain soaked road my poor little ute had no chance of missing him.
The insurance company wrote it off.

Here is some pics of my poor little ute

Beware of idiots in 4wds

Already had a pretty fair idea about how relays work.
Replaced the relay, and it seems to be behaving itself now.
Hopefully it will stay this way

Cheers

My ute has a relay between the ignition and the starter. It is not a standard item.
It is screwed on up near the headlight relay.
When you turn the key, and it doesnt start, you can hear this relay click.
An immobiliser is an engine immobiliser. (Part of a car alarm)

Well I whipped the starter motor out and took it to the auto electrician.
He tested it and reckons it is fine (a little noisy though).
He seems to think the voltage coming to the starter might be low.
He wouldnt tell me any more than that. I think he wanted to get some money out of me for further info. The hide of him!
What would cause the low voltage?
The only 2 things it could be would be the relay or the immobiliser. As far as I understand, they are both essentially just "on/off switches". I wouldnt have thought these would be the problem.
Can any of you guys shed some light on it?

Check for rust in all the usual areas.
Floors are probably rusted. Could be a Freddy Flintstone job.

Whats it like mechanically? Do you need to add a new motor/gearbox/diff etc to your shopping list?

I have an intermittent problem with my 1200 ute.

Sometimes when I get in and turn the key to start it, it doesnt start. All the dash lights come on as they should, and there is a "click" from under the bonnet, but thats it.
I find that if I keep turning the key a few times it will eventually start.

It happens occasionally, and sometimes I nedd turn turn the key 2 or 3 times to make it go. Today I had to turn it like a dozen times!

Any suggestions on a cure guys?
