Our grandson just had an unfortunate accident with our baby 1200 Ute(1985, 128,000kms'). As I only had it insured for $1850, our insurance company will write it off. We want to buy it back, and fix it. It it worth it? Can we get parts? The lights, turn indicator, and one headlight still work, only one headlight is out, but the plastic coverings are demolished. The front grill has been pushed back puncturing the radiator and the front fenders are bent back(had to pull one out to get off tow truck). Need new grill, and bumper, bonnett etc. Any help is appreciated

Thanks for the info on the centres. I had heard that there was a gearbox speedo drive from another species of datto that bolted straight into the 1200 type gearbox and compensated for the diff ratio change.

What is the most common diff centre replacements for a 1200 datto ute. I believe it is currently 4.something:1, but would like some extra legs for the open road (3.9, 3.8:1ish). Then, a replacement gearbox speedo drive mechanism to compensate for the diff. Any suggestions?

A12 Engine 1985 Datto. R,S & B method of removing carby, manifolds & head for head gasket change. Failed to take note of the emission control plumbing/routing. Does anyone have a photo or diagram of this system. My manual (1967 to 1974) does not cover the gear on this model. Has solenoid mounted on front and rear of intake manifold as well as throttle nudger stuff. Help!
