I'm no expert. But I think you are asking the right bunch of datsun freaks to answer your question.
I would guess that a pair of 40s would be the absolute largest size you could go for.

Hi, It looks like the cbr I was looking at has now doubled in price and I am in no extreme hurry. I will look at any option. I love the honda reliability and build quality but the Italians have some great gear too.
Thanks for all the info . A little education goes a long way !

Hi Guys,
I'm looking to buy a '91 cbr and I thought I'd ask your advice.
Any bike nuts out there?
I'm looking at a '91 because it seems to be going cheap.
What are they worth ?
Is there anything I should know about this model ?
Any warning bells ringing ?
This one seems to be in good order for its age, and the seller tells me that everything works and I shouldn't have much trouble with road worthy.
Its about 200klm away so I will have to buy it by remote control ! Scary eh?

I like reading the 1/4 mile thread, and I've noticed some very good times are being done with open diffs.
I am gob smacked !
Is anyone else surprised at sub 14s ?

Noice.....You might need a better(front on) shot of the guages though.
The little truck looks tidy eh.
Why are you selling the dash ?

Have you driven a locker before ?
I've put one in my car. It's a disaster to drive on the road. I'll probably look into getting one of those billion dollar lsd jobs.

Hey Bert, I'm loving the replies so far.
The wagon is on the road and ready for the first outing on the drag strip. I can tell everyone that a locked diff is a really bad idea for road use. No where near ready for circuit though
