Came across a 1200 Coupe. Good body, paint, good interior, A15 engine. Problem being it is right hand drive. I need left hand drive. I have a totally wore out 1200 coupe with about 800,000 miles on it. Was a rust bucket when I got it w/only 180,000 miles on it. Also have 2 1200 sedan parts cars. All are left hand drive. Possible to switch from right to left w/out reinventing the wheel?

Almost impossible to find 5 speed manual in the USA for 1200 coupe. Any other 5 speeds that will work? I am thinking maybe same vintage Toyota ones might work, Atleast have same bolt pattern to the engine as both Toyotas and Datsuns began as Austins built under license.

How much does SR 20 Engine Weigh? How much does A14 Engine weigh. Considering installing SR20 in 1200 coupe, but don't want to if it weighs enough to throw of the wieght distribution enought to adversely affect handling.

Been seeing 1200 coupes with SR20 Engines hitting just under 200MPH in the 1/4 mile. The bodies look pretty much stock except for the ginormous drag slicks at the rear.

I would settle for 100 MPH in the quarter! Just want to build a very fast street car.

A15 Crank In A12 Block

Has anybody tried using an A15 crank in an A12 Block? What Kind of rods were used? Someone suggested that I find some pistons that had piston Pin holes closer to the top to compensate for the longer stroke. I did not like that idea as I would think that shorter rods would mean less weight flying around in there.

Twin SU's are a pretty good bang for the buck. pretty good economy even w/richer needles. A set of twin DCOE webbers can't be beat though.

Road and Track Magazine added a set of Webbers to a stock TR4 and only gained 10 HP for a $2000 investment.

The SU is a simple elegant design. That said, it suffers from cheap materials and needs constant care. The biggest, hardest to solve problem is that the cheap metal in the throttle body wears out where the throttle shaft goes thru. That lets air in at the shaft and the misalignment of the shaft keeps the butterfly from seating properly in idle position, making idle adjustment difficult. Not a problem for racing machinery.

There used to be a tool for boring the throttle shaft hole so that a bushing could be inserted.

Need float level spec for 1980 620 truck.

Having trouble setting it. Just a little adjustment gets me no fuel or a very hig level.

Having trouble adjusting idle also.

Bought rebuilt carburetor. put new filter on intake side of fuel pump, but got rust from fuel pump into carburetor.. Was able to blow out most passages w/o disassembling it. Runs now, but wont idle. Suspect Idle circuit is clogged.
