I had a similar set up with an A14. mine now has EFI with a full re built bottom end and runs more boost and power. I used a surge tank from the start as they are cheap enough and i left my battery in the front. With my first build before the EFI i had my Holley fitted with Neoprene gaskets and a solid float to stop leaking and collapsing under boost.
You will have fun regardless, the turbo makes a big power difference.

If you have trouble finding these try Grahame's Wreckers in Sydney. i think they are in Smithfield. they are wrecking 1200's all the time. not the cheapest but worth a try.

Higher profile tires will help if you have low profile tires. Im trying to get a 5 speed without breaking the budget. So while im waiting i went for the 3.7 ratio diff center from a bluebird and it works a treat. i did ring 50 wreckers and found one in Taree for $150 earlier this year. The others i seen were in Tamworth when i was there for work but they are all in a pile and have to sort through them to identify. the guy doesn't know what they are off and doesn't care. There would be 120y, 1200 ute and sedan diffs maybe stanza/bluebird in original housings.
I seen a rusty pile of datsun diffs in the weather and got confused looking so i left. I will say but when i do get the 5 speed ill go back to 4.11

Ok i have 2 options. So i thought i would share what i found here in case anyone else is looking at this also.
1200 ute springs to Reset Quoted $355p/pair + U bolts.
Or pre made Lowered MadDat Springs for 1200 ute @$500 pair + postage + U bolts.
I have been told the original springs when reset will sag after 12 months and can cause bad tramping. If anyone has had this done before and can comment on there experiences that would be great?

Anyone who has lowered there 1200 more than 2 inches in the rear i want your advice.
I have 2 inch blocks in the back of my 1200 ute and i wanted to go lower. At least another inch! i found 3inch lowering blocks for $300 inc postage but i didnt want to use blocks that big. Is there lowered leaf springs i can buy and install myself. i have been looking to get my set re done, but its becoming a rare thing? surely it can be that difficult.
