People. I'm about to buy a tacho for my 1974 120Y B210. The tacho for sale is:

24855-H7200 ASSY-TACHOMETER OP 0875-

This one says august 1975 and up. Does that mean it won't fit in my 1974's dash? Best confer with you guys before I'm buying something I think.

Edit: I can see it will physically fit. I just have to do something about the wiring.

Hello again peeps! Four years have passed, not much has happened, really. I installed an electric fuel pump in place of my failed old vacuum pump. This makes firing the ol' girl up a pleasure! But, crap from the fuel tank has clogged the lines and the carby, so it's not in use at the moment. I'm gonna do the A15 swap now I think, but I'll ask you wizards again;

This 1974 Europe-spec B210 - I don't have to mess with the crossmember when swapping in the A15? It will fit without tampering? I'll just move the engine mount brackets from the A12 over to the A15 - the A15 has currently got Vanette mounts, and those won't fit, right. Right?

I'll check out the blinkers later today. Anyone's got an idea on why the horn honks for half a second just at the moment the blinker switch returns to neutral after a left turn?

But. Guess the Datto didn't quite enjoy the long ride as much as I do. The A12 is now coughing and splutting wildly - like the carb is getting flooded. Here's the thing;

The car is idling just fine at startup. I go for a ride, giving it a soft touch to the accelerator, all is well. So, at the first long slope, I have to give it some more gas, and eventually, it starts hesitating. It coughs and juggles wildly at the first touch of the pedal after this, just like the carb is flooding. When I give it full throttle, it works. But it loses power, and up slopes, in third gear, I have to help it up with the manual choke (!), or else it's not going to make it. Surely this is a carburettor issue? Since it idles just fine but dies at the first touch of the gas? And revs away again at max throttle?

When I turn off the engine and let it cool, it returns to normal. But after some minutes of driving, it's back to hesitating and juggling. Is the old carb a goner? :)

(Not that this really matters since the A15 is going in, but for leisure driving up to the point of swapping the engine, I'd like to know the solution for this, if anyone got it. ;)

I'll take some photos today! :)

Nah, only the left outside blinkers work. All three, rear/side/front on the right side stopped working halfway through the trip.. :) I'm gonna check the bulbs. It can't be the blinker switch I suppose, when the right blinkers does not work with the hazard switch too.. Strange that all three of them doesn't work. Or do they all fail when one globe fails?

Hi guys! Did a roadtrip this weekend, 900km. Good on the old 1200. Its valve seals seem to be broken as it burns oil like nothing else. But it doesn't matter, I'm going to fit the A15 soon.

But. Electric gremlins appeared underway. My turn signal only works when turning left. If turned on in the right direction, nothing happens. The indicator lamp inside lights up and stays on, relay doesn't even click, nothing outside the car. Also, this goes for hazard switch. Only left blinkers are blinking. What's wrong?? :o Bonus feature: when blinking left, and turning; as I roll the steering wheel back into a straight position, and the blinker handle is brought back into its neutral position - a small signal is sent to the car horn, causing it to honk quickly :D WTF?

And the wiper fluid jet nozzles seem to have packed themselves up with something as they do not squirt fluid on the windshield. Can it be fixed - or can I buy new nozzles somewhere?

There's always something. ;)

Think I got the exhaust bit now, exhaust workshop in town would surely be able to fix this small issue.

By the way.. I can't seem to figure out something.. the rear diff shows no numbering or marks of some sort.. someone knows anything about VIN number decoding for old Datsuns? Or some clue? My 120Y has VIN LB210425813. First time registration in Norway occured on October 27th 1974.. do you guys think it's likely that my Datto was produced with the H150 starting september 1974?

Ah, now I got it. Thanks! Any tips on how to get the flange?

I'll just need it in detail, so I don't scrap the Vanette With some parts that I should've taken out still on it, hehe. Besides, I'm somewhat of a noob.

Lars

Allright, I was going to alter the exhaust a little later on anyway - but IF I want to reuse the near-new stock exhaust hanging underneath my 120Y for w a while before doing that, I have to cut the front-most part of the vanette exhaust and join it together With the Stock 120Y exhaust at the same Place since the Stock 120Y exhaust won't bolt directly to the A15 exhaust manifold due to stud differences? I've understood it correctly, yes?
