thanx guys for all the info. I live in SA, will move to Au next year. My Datsun was bought new in 1975, in SA. Its a 1200 GX Coupe. Its completely original and spotless even with original hubcaps the works, has never had anything done on it, except myself changing oil, plugs and filters and once or twice I replaced the brake fluid and coolent. Oh I replaced the gearbox and div oil at 50 000 and 100 000 km as well. It now has 102 000 km on it. Colour is blue.

It appears there is no problem getting federal import permission, but New South Wales appear to require emissions control, my Datsun is completely original 1975 only 102 000 km, i.e. has no emissions control - will I have to modify it in NSW to register it, and what will it cost?

Are there any other requirements besides emissions in NSW?
