I have a VQ and VG I borrowed a certified load cell from work. It's accurate to +/- lbs. We will see how light the VQ is. Seems massive!

I also have a L20 a SR20DET and a KA24E going to weigh them all.

I hear you on the might as well go V8 although I don't care for the v8 sound (unless its the new mustang 350 with the flat plane crank) I'll just stick with the VG since I love the sound.

When I get to the swap I'll try and start a thread. maybe within the next year or two.

So I've had my ute for 6 years now and the A series is getting a bit tired. I've done tons of motor swaps in my 510's and although I thought about keeping the A series I just don't really care for them. So I keep thinking a VG30 would be rad as it would sound beast and since it's a truck it doesn't have to handle like it's on rails it would be fun to do the VG swap. What do you guys think about the added weight? Don't care about fuel economy either. I work 1 mile from my house and don't take it on road trips. This is my work horse.

I haven't notched the frame yet. The leaf mount almost touches the ground when it's fully loaded, so even with a notch I'm not going to get much more travel. I got the tires from a dude who imported a massive amount for some odd electric car but NEVER sold any. They fit perfect. nice and low without fender rubbing issues. The front crossmember is about 1" off the ground. I've driven it around thousands of miles at this ride height :)

Here are some comparison photo's of the LSD pulled and the one we are putting back in. The Tag is from when a welded center was in the gear set. The welded center is now in the 4.6 gear set.

Dang thats a super old picture of my ute! It's much much lower now :) Besides that not much is new with it. Lets see if I can find a better picture of it.

As far as the diff goes mine looks different. I'll PM Pitroad and see what he thinks.

Got two of these guys in a trade. Installed the first one and it seems to slip a lot. Any ideas on the brand or where to get more clutches? Installing the second one this weekend but would like to fix the other for my ute.

Thanks guys!

Well I ordered the earlier model part number from the Nissan dealer. We will shortly see if it's safety glass and I can also hold it up to a sedan window to see if there somewhat similar.

That's what I need to know though... I can't imagine them changing but would like it confirmed.

This is what I got back. Had a friend email a friend in Japan and said all of them are still available. I want to order the blue glass but was worried the frame my have changed.....

Anyway, I wrote part number by year order.

1975/Oct-1986/Nov
72613-H1102, changed to 72613-H1900, and changed to 72613-H1903

1986/Nov-1989/Oct
72613-G1900 (blue glass)

1989/Nov-
G2613-G1900 (green glass)

I think, early model has partial hardend glass, then changed to laminated glass at later model, but I am not sure changed since which part number.

Recently my windshield got smashed out of my 73 Sunny truck on the freeway. One second it was perfect the next I could barely see out of it. Then before long it was in my lap. There was no visable sign of it being safety glass. That being said I want to order a new window. From what the part numbers say there are all kinds of window options depending on the year. My question is are the window frames different? I purchased a used Sedan windshield since we didn't get the trucks here. It took 5 hrs of sanding to get it to fit in the truck. The fit is not very good either :( So that's my question. Are the frames different?

My friend brought it back from Japan when he was selling it I had to have it. It's been a great dependable rig. I just got done converting the front end to ZX disks with S13 coilovers. It rides and stops so nice now!
