I'm not saying your wrong, but I work as a tech, I've been around car dealers my whole life, and have seen many swaps that you say are not legal done. A big block in a 80's malibu, Grand National engine in a chevy truck, Corvette engine in a El Camino ect.. all have papers and pass a smog.
There are many loopholes and if you use them in the correct order, many things not LEGAL can be done. It's not my fault they don't catch everything, but it's to my benefit. haha Like I said, we just have to be smart about it!

I don't mean to #### in your cheereo's, but if the motor is from a similar vehicle of the same make or newer, it is legal in california. Most smog ref's are not datsun expert's either. so if the motor plate staes it has twin carb's, and the tech see's two carb's with vacuum lines running to the correct places, Air box with correct PCV sytem, Egr in working order, a cat and working exhaust, ect.. who is he to say it's not correct. I am not planning on making every thing chromed out and pretty, I am going to make it LOOK factory. So if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and smells like a duck... it just might be a Datsun.

The motor is going to be capable of running methanol by changing the jets and the fuel alone. It will have a catalytic converter so the cops can't say ####. There are many ways around smogs, legally. We just have to be smart about it. My motor will pass a smog, even with twin 40mm solex's.
These cars could be optiond with twin SU's, so whats the difference with running solex's? And the block of the motor is a Z24, so the numbers say it was origanally a carburated engine. It's the visual inspections that #### most car enthusiasts. Make them look factory!!!

So with a 215 Hp KA, your saying a H150 will destroy itself?

hey, does anyone know where to find a wiring diagram for the heater circuit in a 1980 210? It did not work when I bought the car and the wiring is semingly all there, justy not hooked up in the correct order. Iv'e tried playing with the wires and have got power to the relay, but can not get the blower motor to switch on. getting frustrated and cannot find a repair manual for the 210, just the trucks. thanks for any help.

So far my best MPG is 49 at 65 mph. Absolutly stock A14, five speed, h150 3.70
Nothing aftermarket, yet. but I have screwed with the carb, timing and perfect valve adjustment. too bad it's only about 28 around town.

I am actually using the Z24 bottom end with the KA head. Same basic engines. But I have searched all of the wiki swaps and still have some questions. I am wondering if there is a front sump pan for the Z24. Even a mid sump would help. Anyone know?

I have a 1980 B210 four door. I also have a Z24 and a KA24E, trans from a 1985 720, two solex side draughts, plus many misc. brackets from the 720, 240 SX and my 210. It is mechanically stock now with the A14 and five speed. I need some defintive awnsers on the motor swap. Which motors mounts to use, and what to do about the crossmember/steering/oil pan. Do I cut up the oil pan, or cut up the crossmember? one of them has to move! I'm not scared of cutting it up (sawzall is my favorite tool).
