hey everyone the Black TeamDFC Datsun 1200 ute has finally gone to a new home. however the latest from DFC rep, Gilbo, is that the new Green 1200 Drag car has now got Dave Mcpherson's 13b turbo motor sitting in her. Dave has run the fastest untubbed rotary time in the world of 8.50 on this motor. things are looking huge for gilbert racing and teamdfc. should have some photo's up on the website soon. www.teamdfc.cjb.net

To be honest, the 20b is overkill in something like a datsun ute, well, to the point of keeping a conversion relatively simple anyway.

I was thinking of going 20b when I did the conversion, but with all the extra mucking around and trying to source hot up parts at a reasonable, I thought it was easier to go 13b.

Also, you'd pretty much have to build a whole new chassis to cope with the power of the 20b. I can see it now...the whole ute twisting the chassis on it's first launch.

Depends on how keen you are I guess!

Leigh

yeah i think the new 13b may be pretty powerful too leigh, considering its run 8.50 in an untubbed ke20 corolla. (can be seen on rotorworx website)

just out of curiosity, how did you guys here of teamdfc and do you guys know gilbo

The only reason I know is that you put up a link to your website on Ausrotary some time ago.

Nothings safe on the internet!
