It's easy to check the float level:

1. Remove fuel hose from fuel bowl inlet
2. Remove the 4 screws that fasten the top of the float chamber
3. Remove top and place upside-down and level
4. Measurement from top of brass lever to flange (without gasket) should be:
11-12 mm

* If it is less than this, float needs adjustment to prevent overflowing
* If more than this, carburetor will run lean

Visual Checks:
- If you see corrosion inside the fuel bowl, the float might be sticking

- If you see rust sediment in the fuel bowl, that can cause problems with the needle and seat, occasionally cause overflow. In this case, drain the gas tank, and change the fuel filter

NOTE: When replacing top, do not tighten the screws very much. They are very small and require only a little torque
