I've just been offered a late model t50 off a 4age (with 4age bellhousing) for $500 in good condition. Is this a good buy, and does dellow have an adapter kit to mate it to an a-series?

yeah they say to fit a 2T or 3T t50. I'm assuming that means a 2T or 3T engine...this one I've been offered is off a 4age. I'm not sure if they're the same, but if dellow specify engine types, then I doubt it.
I'm beginning to regret selling my 2T, t50 powered corolla for $250...

Dellow do a kit for a 2T or 3T box as well...these boxes are only $200 from a wrecker plus the cost of the Dellow kit, you would have a virtually unbreakable box behind any A series for around $1000

I dont really fancy getting a box off the shelf at the wreckers, good chance that I'd be up for a rebuild...costly

I run a 3T box in my racecar....I bought it from a wrecker, off the shelf for $250, It was never rebuilt, that was 6 years ago. I have given this box a very hard time. It shifts just as well as the day I put it in. The strength of these boxes are quite amazing, compared to the datsun boxes.
The only difference I was able to identify between the 2T and 3T box, is that the 3T has a slightly larger input shaft bearing. Benny

correct me if im wrong but im 99% sure the "T" series gearbox's off import ae86's are exactly the same as the gearbox's found on the aussie 4ac ae85's and ae71's (maybe "s" series?) the only different being the bellhousing. and im almost certain you could pick up the aussie 4ac box for next to nothing

What I'm wanting to know is whether the 4age box is the same as the 2T/3T box (as in will the dellow kit fit?)
