Anti-Dieseling Solenoid

The wire inside the anti-dieseling solenoid off my carby has broken off. The wire is a snug fit inside the solenoid so continues to make contact, however any sideways movement of the wire causes contact to be lost.

Is it possible to resolder the wire inside the solenoid or do I need to find a new one?

Or can the end of the soleniod be removed (don't know it's proper name) so that it doesn't operate any more. Not sure of the consequences of this other than the engine may (or will) run on when I switch off.

Any comments welcome.
