Kill switches

Hey i need to no how to wire a kill switch up i have a rough idea but i dont want #### it up.

pick a wire that is going to or from the item you wanna be able to kill and snip the wire, strip back both ends and one end attaches to one end/prong of the switch and the other wire to the other prong on the switch. Done.
Thats prviding your using a single pole double throw switch. Cheers Damo

what i was thinking was earth one end of the switch and then put the other on the starter main feed

yes wire up the thing you want to be able to switch, so that it has positve and negative, then you cut a wire (positve wire prefered) and put your switch in there, that way the switch can break the circuit when needed.

I'm going to assume you mean a "master kill" that would shut the whole system off in case of an accident. If you interrupt the big-assed ground wire going from the battery to the chassis/engine but don't isolate the alternator, the car will keep running. Well, until it pops the diodes in the alternator. The Chickenhawk had this problem because I was too cheap to buy the master kill with alternator protection. Having said all of that, I must admit that I don't remember how the alternator is supposed to be wired in, sorry. Looking back on this post, I've pretty much wasted every one's time. Sorry about that.
