I'm starting to second guess myself , I was sure that all 1200's came out with 12 wheels now I have a guy telling me they didn't , now all the 1200's and 120y's Iv'e had had 12's on them but did the 1200 ever have 13's fitted originally ?

I've never seen or heard of it. I've seen lots of Japan, some AU and USA brochures, and one South Africa brochure, all list 12" wheels (even GX models had 12" wheels albeit radial tires instead of bias ply). Even the mighty 1200SSS had 12" wheels.

But anything's possible. Maybe some special model somewhere had 13" wheels.

13" wheels were a sports option on the KB10 but I have never seen then on a 1200 or a 120Y.

13" wheels were 'recomended' fitment on 1200's that were being prepared for rally use, & this recomendation is found in the competition manual, but they were not fitted to any 1200 that I know of when they left the factory.
The 13" wheels mentioned above were from the P510 as follows.

Part No.40300- 78800, 4.5J- 13. These wheels were made from material that was 3.2mm thick for the rim, but 2.9mm thick for the wheel center.

Serious rally cars used Part No. 40300- A1102. P510 Opt 5J- 13. These also had rims that were 3.2mm thick, but the wheel center was 3.8mm thick.
The 13" wheels that could be bought on the KB10 would very likely have also been one of these two part numbers.

The 1200's standard 12" wheel had a rim that was 2.6mm thick with a wheel center of 2.6mm thickness. It was a 4J rim.

The fellow that is telling you that 1200's were available with 13" rims [ex factory] is talking rubbish, however, if a new car buyer really wanted them on a new car, i'm sure that the selling dealer would have his parts department order some in, & they could be fitted at pre delivery. This is what would be called a 'dealer fitted option' I suppose.

More information please.

What model? [year model & body type]
Where was it?
How do you know that they were factory fitted?
What wheels were they? [production, specials, alloy?]
What was their intended purpose? [Rally, sport option. street cred, off road?]
Can you get a picture?

I looking foward to learning more.

I only really wanted to clarify it because I'm selling some original wheelcovers on ebay and a guy told me ' are you sure ther'e 12" because the factory wheels size was 155-13 ' I politely told him he was mistaken before I asked on here , I just wanted to be sure that's all

It was a 1200 ute so mid 70's.

Where was it? hear in Adelaide.

How do you know that they were factory fitted?Thats what i was told they where a sport option.(At the time i didnt think anything of it not knowing that, that would be the only set i would ever see)

What was their intended purpose? I think they where just a sport option. However they looked like a Rally Wheel they where almost soild they only had small slits near the outside of the wheel and had NISSAN cast on the outer lip.

Can you get a picture? It was 4 or 5 years ago and i havent seen the car again. So no.

I was think about this last night as i went to sleep trying to remember what they looked like.

Mabye we should ask some of the guys from SA they might know.

I find it hard to belive that in the (mid 70's)
they would bother with a "sport option" on the utes.. being intended as a work rig...?
I have never herd of 13" wheels on a factory 1200, but there is allways the chance that im wrong..
I also think that if a customer were purchasing one, and you intended on getting 13" wheels for it they would order them in...
