it will not be the hp you notice but the torque
but no there is not a real big difference

a14 can rev a bit higher and a bit cleaner from my experience... also the a15 has good torque down low but not much up high in stockis form, an a14 feels like it can rev a bit more up high in stockish form rpm wise... might be only 500rpm in it top end wise.

I had a 'mechanic' mate look at the donor car that had my motor in it. We bought it in the dark and he assured me he didn't need to see the engine numbers one drive and he could tell if it were an A15 (as he used to rally 1200 coupes). He took this Sunny wagon for a boot and said "Oh yeah that's an A15 for sure!"

When I started rebuilding the motor years later....took a look at the engine number....A14xxxxxxxx.

So I guess you wont feel the difference (at least in stock form).

Screw the HP, you will never feel 3hp in an empty ute. The two things that would be important, if the engines condition & price are about equal, .... are
1. Torque.
2. Future potential.

If you plan to haul any load with this, then the heavier the load, the more you will notice a difference. In this instance a load can be regarded as a steep hill too. That's torque.

If you plan to develop this engine further at some time on the future, then you will always be in front with the larger displacement. Both engines will survive at RPM levels that frighten the crap outa me.

The A14 is a really good engine, but the A15 just has the edge.
If the A14 is in good condition & priced at half the price of the A15, then it will be a very good choice, but as I said, if all else is equal, then go for the A15.
