Rear axle question..
Duncan
Posted on: 2006/10/10 4:55
Are the 1200 rear axles interchangeble from the Coupe to the Sedan? I've never looked under a sedan, but somehow I seem to recall someone mentioning the shock mounts are different..
Thanks!

Same diff maker, same Wheel Base, same drums = same axle.
Ute's with the H165 are more likely to be an exception. Chris

shock mounts are different, but if you use the bottom plate that mounts to the leaves from the coupe a sedan diff will go straight in as the coupe shock mounts are located on these.
Have done it myself to save pullin a blown diff apart. All other parts interchange( axels, centre, drums, ect) except wheel cylinders which are different bore due to front disks on coupe. Hope this helps You can view topic.
