Who has adjustable castor rods?, i heard you have to modify the front guards.
Does any one have any pic's or info on what's required to do this mod.

I was reading in the 1200 tech section and could only find the below info:

Andrew machined 60mm more thread on the castor rods to get some more castor (which required some modifications to the front guards for clearance).

I did this two weeks ago. Look at the Datsun 1200 factory competition suspension manual linked in the tech section Download it, read it, view the diagrams.

Its easy. No threading required. Just a good lathe to cut down the shoulder so they can pull the control arm forward.

You wont need to clearance the gaurds if your tire diameter is no larger than stock. My stock sized tires have about an inch of clearance. I cut my rods down .600 of an inch.

The car is much more confident at high speeds. I recommend it.

O.k that does make sence, my tires at the moment are TRX rims with 195/50 tyres and it catches on the edge of the guards. so i wanted to get this sorted before i get my Baby painted

pretty much any larger than stock tyres will catch on the front guards on 1200s, especially if they are repro guards. Most people just cut that corner off and have an ugly jagged edge there, I believe boofhead has had his done all pro so they retain the lip.
On my 120Y the castor rods have been machined and more thread added, with nuts on both sides, the leading edges of the guards have been cut and folded back in for more room.

Sundat did you find that steering is heavier now?
