Oil dipstick problem!

I put an A12 oil pan in my A14 because of the crossmember clearance. Now the dipstick don`t go down. What`s the problem??

Is it an early A12 (1970-1973) oil pan? The dipstick location in the block is totally different from the later engines.

Thank DD i just notice that! The oil pan that was in my A12 was a early one, that`s was the guy who sold me the car had the dipstick cuted. I have to change the pan to an late A12 one.
