I don't think that's a VB10. Good pic though.
Different grill, different bonnet, lights, roof-line, trim, bumper, windows, windshield, not to mention FWD. You can see where Datsun got their ideas from though, what is it? British I suspect?

![]() 1973 Simca 1100 Special Simca's supermini was quite roomy in spite of its small size, very frugal with gas and utterly reliable. And especially the rear looked rather snazzy as well. No wonder this car became quite popular in Holland. Alas, rust protection was virtually unknown then and most 1100s have succumbed to the brown pest by now.

Japan wikipedia says the B10 had a very strong influence from the Opel Kadett A:
It says B10 has "the monocoque body design, the wheel size and the use of transverse leaf spring suspension" -- same as the Kadett. Most interesting about the transverse spring: Quote: The front crossmember (steering, suspension and engine mounting) assembly from the HA [GM's Vauxhall HA twin of GM's Opel Kadett] became a very popular item for DIY hot rod builders in the UK, due to its simple self-contained mechanics, similar to older designs such as those from the 1930s, and ability to accommodate much larger engines within its span. The assembly featured a double wishbone/vertical telescopic dampers suspension design in combination with a transverse leaf spring attached to the front cross member at its centre position and the entire unit could be removed and adapted to another vehicle as a complete unit.
