#1 120y seats for 1200?
up2mischief Posted on: 2011/5/28 19:10
Does anyone know if 120y seats are the same as 1200 seats? Not sure if the 120y seats are coupe or sedan, but they are going into a 1200 coupe. There's front and rear. Need info before i buy them. Cheers.

B210 seats fit on B110 seat rails and are a perfect fit for a 1200.

The newer ones are a bit thinner with a thinner headrest too.

2-dr seats fold for access to the rear seat. It is an OPTION for 4-dr cars, as standard fitment was non-folding seats, which may or may not recline.

DD,
I am not sure if the aussie delivered seats were different, but I have a b210 with seats. I was going to do as you suggested and swap the rails over to put the seats into my 1200 coupe but from memory they were a wider seat. I'll check and confirm.
cheers

Yeah i was considering this to with 2 door 120y sedan seats but we concluded they wont work without some sort of spacer on the inner side. As the mounting points are at different heights. Though My old sedan (Mr Hanky) had 120y seats in it but the rear mounting point had been modded with a length of angle iron.

Can't help regarding the rear seats.

How do coupe front seats vary from the sedan? (apart from the reclining/tilting function)

Are you doing a classic restoration or just making a daily? I've converted '92 Daihatsu Charade seats to fit my sedan before, only have to make some spacers (or buy a pile of 5/16 washers) and fab a support for the tunnel side. I can give you measurements for the support if you like? Charade seats are only about $15 each from the wreckers, and are fairly comfortable. Only problem I found was they sit a bit higher, so had to fit a sports steering wheel to fit my legs between the seat and the wheel :-S

DD has pointed out that 120Y sedan rear seats fit into a 1200 sedan.

As for different height on the front seats that was to do with a revision to the transmission tunnel, later 120Y will be strikingly evident. Earlier 120Y is flat. All of my 120Y seats have had the reclining\tilt forward function in them.

The underlying question is can you afford to buy the seats to find out or are they overpriced (ie, more than $50)

There's some brown 120Y coupe ones on ebay ATM, doesn't say whether they're from early or late:
