Engine flush - help please :)

Quick query boys due to my timing cover cracked and the gasket/water pump seal has leaked water in the timing cover and into the sump now what I'm curious is best way for a flush and clean as I found it instant once putting the engine back in and started it up for the first time since regasketing and changing the timing cover.. So to clean/flush is it best to pull the sump clean toughly new oil filter new oil give it a quick run until the thermostat opens and check the oil for water still then do another oil flush and filter?
Or is there a more efficient way to clean/flush the engine I want to do it right there is no emulsified oil i got onto it instantly so it has no damage to engine I just need to ensure its clean and fix it back up

Kerosene or diesel flush. Then and oil flush diluted with diesel, then oil.
When you say flush do you mean you are going to crank the engine over and use the pump to circulate? I'd remove plugs, use a new filter and crank it over using the solution above, then install new filter and oil and run. Make your next oil and filter change much sooner than regular schedule. Other wise, disassemble, wash, flush and blow with compressed air. Good luck.

Mind you, if it has just dripped into the sump you shouldn't have to go through all that trouble. So you ran it for a short while with water in the oil?
A couple of changes should do the trick, as mentioned the diesel can be added to help make up the quantity if you're using premium oil.

I'd just drain and fill with a cheap oil and a bottle of engine flush - follow the directions onthe bottle - ie idle for about 10 minutes. Then drain and fill with your normal oil. All good.

Or drain the oil and fill with ATF just let it warm at idle do not rev the engine and the just drain the ATF after the engine got warm, ATF is like soap cleans a lot but don't lubricate much so that's why you don't want to rev the engine when you are flushing with ATF you will wear the engine
