Hi all! I just got my hands on a 1972 Datsun 1200 automatic recently and i was hoping to get some tips and tricks on 1200s.

Any common problems?

Any upgrades I should look into?

I'm currently experiencing one problem with my datsun. It starts up great and drives great but if I'm stopping for 3 secs at a stop light or sign, as soon as I accelerate my car dies. But I can immediately turn it back on again. Any idea what's causing this?

Oh yeah my car currently has airbags suspension (I hate it, I'm either boucing around or I'm really stiff and I feel like the car will bottom out.) Needless to say I'm looking to swap that out for something smoother and more comfortable for daily driving. Any recommendations? Prices would be helpful too.

Anyone know of a good shop for datsuns in LA?
