A 15 Valves

Are the valve clearances the same for an A 15 motor as they are for a A12?
The manual I have (A12) says 0.014" for inlet and exhaust. (.35mm) Is this the same spec for an A15? Thanks. I just wanted to double check.

um, depends on the cam man!
if you wind the clearances too tight, you end up with a cam with tons of duration and no lift for the first 30 degrees of that duration!! yep, made that mistake..

For stock cams, yes they are the same. To make it easy, I adjust at 0.013 cold. When it warms up, it should be right at 0.014.

thanks ddgonzal. this is still to do with that carb problem we discussed the other day.
I'm just double checking all the obvious things now. but starting to run out of ideas. Engine Ignition system everything appears spot on - dwell set at exactly 52 deg, plugs ok and gapped correctly, points new, all plug leads etc ok.float level spot on, new fuel filter, retensioned manifold gaskets etc etc etc etc............... I did a compression test last night Number 1 : 185 psi Number 2 : 195 psi Number 3 : 180 psi Number 4 : 195 psi The only thing left to do is to do a cylinder leakage test. If this doesnt show anything i am roooooooooted The bloody thing just idles terrible after a drive. sometimes it idles sometimes it doesnt, some times high idle / low idle.............frustrating.

it could be an air leak in the intake manifold somewhere. common spot is a flange gasket. You can view topic.
