As far as im aware the only factory genuine tonneau cover is the south African bakkie tonneau

Yeah I was wondering how you tell if you've got a genuine one as I've got one floating around the garage somewhere. But maybe there isn't such a thing on the Aussie sold utes?

from what I can gather some aussie utes were sent to local trim shops to receive tonneaus as an option back in the day hence the use of ford xb bungee loops and their willingness to drill dodgy holes all down the sides of a beautiful panel for cheap plastic clips
Some coupes with damaged roofs were also sent to local trimmers to receive vinyl tops altho a vinyl top was also a factory option But from what I heard the factory sometimes chose to vinyl top cars with ill fitting or hail damaged dented roofs

Dealers in Australia used covers from different aftermarket suppliers. Do you know which brand your cover was, or which dealer installed in which year?

Likewise, the South Africa "originals" used a local supplier:
* Tonneau Cover - Old TC140
* Tonneau Cover - New TC140N


Here's the original, order it from Japan. Though it's more of a covering tarp than a tonneau cover:
