Looking at putting a holden V6 3.8 into my 1200 sedan! Have got access to motor, box and wiring. Real Cheap!!!! Has this been done before? Is it even Possible or am I stoopid for even thinking about it?

datgirl, good luck with the conversion, it would be a fun drive even though the holden V6 is a horrible motor but they are cheap.

There's a ute here in Adelaide with the same motor getting about but no details on it unfortunately...

Definately can be done though

i know of my ute, the yellow ute that was at powercruise or summernats, and a coupe in adelaide
its fairly easy to get the engine in, but for the trans you will have to do alot of work tunnel wise
seriously doubt that you could legally get it on the road, so you will only be able to drive it till you see a cop

what exactly is fairly cheap in your opinion, fairly cheap for one of those engines is free pretty much, and they all come with wiring looms as its easier to pull the loom out of the car than it is to unplug every thing from the engine

would end up being a fairly expensive conversion if you want to do it right, as a 1200 wasnt really designed to house a motor like that

the ONLY reasons that i put one of those engines in my ute was coz the ute was already dead(lots of rust and bog) i got a whole vn for free and i only wanted it to do burnouts as thats pretty much all it will be good for

but if you want to know how i did certain things feel free to ask

it really depends what you want out of the car.....then decide what sorta engine will best fit your wants/needs
rather than just getting it coz its cheap....not like they are real hard to find
