#1 Differential
TommyS Posted on: 2014/4/25 18:27
I am looking for a 39/11 differential from a 210. According to my 81 210 Datsun Service Manual this ratio was used with the A14 engine with a 4 speed transmission. I have searched and searched and only found the 37/10 ratio which I have install in my 72 1200 Sedan along with an A15 engine and 5 speed transmission. I am interested in purchasing a 39/11 if it exists?!!!
My name is Tom Shhroyer, I live in Pacifica, California just south of San Francisco.
My contact is tom.schroyer@yahoo.com or 650-355-3453.

Hi Tom,

39/11 = 3.545, which is the rarest of the ratios. Last year I sold two of them.

It is the slowest ratio, performance is "leisurely". Except for fuel economy, the 3.889 is much better both in acceleration and top speed.

Quote:
3.545

HB35 (3.545:1 ratio), highway gear, low torque ratio was only used in USA, mostly in the MPG fuel economy champion B310s.

USA Catalog
* CAL AUTO, A12A from Aug 80 [i.e. 1981 model and newer]
* MPG MANUAL A15 from Dec 1979 to July 1980 [1980, 1981 model years]
* MPG MANUAL A14 from Aug 1980 [1980 model only]

All Datsun 210 (B310) use the H150 differential.

Just a humourous aside, I put the part number for the 39/11 H150 ring & pinion into google & got a lot of responses for this part at Russian Nissan dealers. I never pursued it any further, maybe there's a stash of these in some old Russian warehouse. I found the part number in the wiki, after looking for the part number for the H150 37/10 R&P.
