i thought i would start a project thread of my 1k. Its been sitting out in the weather for the past couple of months so the paint has faded quite a bit needs body work but theres no rust and needs brake upgrade and a 'beefy rearend'!

i have a complete but pulled apart 1200 ute diff (h165) with series one bluebird discs on it ready to bolt into a 1000 (mounts modified to suit 1000 but not shortened) would be ideal for this project but the only issue i found was that with the wagon the little nipple and brake line may foul on the chassis rail but if its a race car i spose it wouldnt matter if you cut the chassis and made little reliefs for this and it the centre has been welded so its now fully locked
if your intrested find me a bluebird drum brake h165 and ill hapily swap you
and this will increase your track on the rear by 40mm either side (total of 80mm overall) which would be good as the front would also be wider if you go with berts front brake setup for the front

It was a dogs breakfast inside the housing! as you could imagine.

This is the 3rd diff i've been through so i'm going to upgrade H165 or H190 depending on what i can find it'll be a bluebird diff either way, i have a H165 already but it stuffed, thats why it was given to me.

I saw something similar to this in the random picture box, i think it was Lagwagon who posted it, but i could be wrong
