kale Posted on: 2006/3/31 6:34
As i am just about to purchase an a15 for my 1200 ute, do they or dont they fit in with no mods? At the moment i have an a12 and have the option of buying a crossmember and engine mounts with the engine, do i need these?
cheers

Yes. I had a look around and read somewhere in here that the the 74 and up A series have a lot more in common with the A14\15 so swaping is a little easier. If you're going to do this might as well find out everthing I cant tell you, read some of the old posts around and ask the questions. We're here to help (well I'm not ) so yeah you should grab that crossmember if you like and mabey some black paint too, makes it harder to find fault when getting rego'd

I reckon an early model ute might need a tiny bit of modding, (nothing that should take more than 1/2 hour) and a later model it should fit no problem.

See How to fit Datsun A14 & A15 Engines.

It depends on which engine your ute has now: 1971-73 engine, or 1974 and newer engine.

There's also considerations of exhaust, wiring and diff (for early utes).

any thing fits in a 1200 depends on your budget
