I used to have a lowrider Datsun on hydraulics but not a 1200. That used a displacement system with remote springs in the boot, kind of similar to the principle Citroen use but with springs rather than accumulator spheres.

OK.... back to the original topic.... Perhaps a stupid question--as I am a complete n00b--but is the semi-trailing IRS from S130 easily adaptable to a 1200? Quite simple and fairly common in a dime.

Yeah, I did but I sold it a few years ago. Wish I hadn't now though That one from the Datnats looks real straight and clean...big rims look good on it too. I had tiny little 14's on mine with 195/45 rubber... it was a little undergeared but it was seriously low Hydraulics are great fun but that car was a never ending drain on my wallet.
