as for ignition trigger just adapt a CAS to your dizzy drive, is a much more elegant solution than a EDIS setup

just to let you know some modern engine pistons have the friction coating
and are high quality hyper-eutetic in composition. You might find the bore size you need.

Given that even a SR20DET that has been rebuilt with minor work running around 20psi with a you beaut roller bearing turbo that smashes S14 CB71C gearboxs with ease and runs a 12 second 1/4 on street tyres has only has 208RWKW the expectation or the 180RWKW may be on the high side reguardless of how much dosh you throw at it. At the flywheel I could believe it is achievable. Turbo setups are difficult to get right at the best of times. Raving on about unrealistic figures is best left to the boys who are old enough to drink and talk crap at the pub.

im hoping for 180rwkw and i think it might just happen im sure everyones seen the yatala headworx datsun 1200 making 240kw (possibly rwkws??) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXTn_rdtbhQ and this was with there a12 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnSSFZEMkNw&feature=related not to mention fins setup from finlad that is sending him into the high 11's i dont think im aiming high i just think everyone underestimates the A series

wow, what an original insult revhead, play the age card, good one.
to go along with those 208rwkw sr20det's there are also some 400rwkw drag sr's floating around. look at the spec list for them, big turbo, forged internals, head work, big turbo specific cam etc etc. now look at the spec list for this engine. In no way am I saying that it will be a 400kw engine but it should easily see 180rwkw. I agree with the fact that people underestimate the hell out of these engines, and the biggest factor for this engine making those numbers and having some resemblance of reliabilty will lie in the tune. If Puerto Ricans use the 2tc and 3tc in 1.6-1.8 litres for
800hp then surely a third of this number can be had with a third less the capacity. A properly setup L series turbo in a 1600 in the states has one all the coveted racing club classes against modern supercars of superior multivalve turbo technology. After winning all the tophies available a special trophy was made to honor the achievement. Dont understimate old motors in the right hands. Quote: One truly inspiring Datsun story involves Tom Wyatt III, otherwise known as Turbo Tom. Turbo tom built a rather fast Turbo powered L20b Datsun 510 and entered in the "Walter Mitty" at Road Atlanta one year. The engine developed 275 horsepower at 21 pounds of boost for drag racing, with 250 more like it on the track. It featured at T04 Rotomaster Turbo and 4150 Holley carb set up.

208rwkw? well thats pathetic you sure you don't mean 280rwkw?
A mates 1600 made 172rwkw on a completely stock s13 sr with just a front mount and a 3 inch exhaust (although thinking back now I can't remember if that was a dyno sheet where they convert it back to "engine power" so take that with a grain of salt) But I have definitely seen unopened sr's getting to 200rwkw on basic bolt ons and a s15 turbo. That said............ I think you'll be having to throw some money at the head to make that sort of power. I've seen a few 200rwkw out of 4agte's and i believe they do i bit of head work (could be wrong) but those heads probably flow more than a worked A series. But either way if you "only" get 150rwkw for example its still going to be stupid quick!

i will be doing a bit of porting but not much as the A series gx head already has pretty big ports for the motor size and plus ive already talked to the engine builder said that just even a clean up of the ports would be good enough due to it being forced induction and you dont have to rely on the motor to pull in the intake charge and even if i dont make 180rwkw it will still be a handful and old freind had an sr20 ute stock as a rock motor at 96kwatw and it went plenty quick enough and was tail happy im just hoping my h165 will handle it pretty sure it will as i dont expect there to be to much torgue
