Well, you got a good bitch session by the looks of it!

Ever since I got my first rotor I don't feel the need for a good stereo

But before that I used to prefer the sound of 2 10 inch subs...They respond well, and are PLENTY loud.

Thats my advice anyway.....

If putting a decent stereo in your car and listening to the type of music you like is being a ricer then so be it. It still smells drives and sounds like a datto and its just personal like the colour and the mags and the engine upgrade choice
each to his own

ummm i invested in a set of alpine 6inch three ways about 6 years ago in my mini and ran them with 4 inch splits in the dash. the 4 inch splits were written off in the crash and all that survived was the 6inch and my 10inch subby in the boot ( i sealed the boot to act as the enclosure). this was plenty loud and i still have the 6 inches in the ute now.

I say quality not quantity is the answer. I sold the sub and belive that splits with good quality speakers that provide ample bass are more than enough. Its all in the mounting and set up, niether strong points in a datsun 1200.

Hell, my original AM radio with single 8w speaker still sounds OK to me. I can hear the "Radio National" personalities just fine on that.

Two 12 inch subs are better than a 15. I've got a Sony Active Black Panel and a Sony 4 channel 444 Watt Amp ready to go in my coupe running a 12 inch and a pair of 4 way 6x9's. A good stereo is always a bonus!

if i could afford twin webbers too maddat, i would get rid of my stereo too. Id need a wild cam too just for the overrun background popping though.
