#1 what shock?
low1000 Posted on: 2005/12/12 2:48
i have 120y front struts are in dire need of new shockies. Can anyone give me advice on what shocks to run and where to get them, and price if possible. i rang pedders and they wanted $270 for them not installed and i thought that was a bit pricey.
thanks in advance
Elliott

I don't think they should cost that much, but the middleman's got to make a profit don't he??

My Datsun dealers parts department also sell non genuine stuff, so check yours out, but any automotive parts outlet like Repco & Supercheap should be able to offer something suitable, so ask around & get some pricing. I think that you can do a LOT better than that.
You should be able to save enough to afford some spring compressors & some spanners with the change & still have money left over.

just installed new suspension in my mates ae86 sprinter and we used kyb shocks in the rear... i would recomend them to anyone

we put in 4.8kg/mm at the frount and 4.3kg/mm at the rear, big handling up grade!!! used the old shocks at the frount, but they are nacked so they will be swaped for kyb's soon to... they are high quality, you could really tell the diffrence between the kyb's and the near new monnros... i have a my mate has a contact over in South Australia i think, he makes custom springs too... if you ring around you would find a kyb dealer closer to you... they have a web page if thats any help http://www.kyb.com/

cheers

If you go KYB make sure you match specs from the manual, KYB seems to recently be changing catalog/part numbers so beware.
