It looks impressive, the power and workmanship is AwSoMe!

Do you have it registered for the work you've recently done, coz the cops down here have been power hungry since the new hoon laws came in. They look for any reason to give you a formal warning.
What exhaust are you running from turbo to tip?

Hope you can break that elusive 100kw barrier without compromising to much on drivability.

If you look at the engine photos the exhaust tapers out to 3" nearly straight away, then continues with 3" all the way out the side of the car.... no muffler...

I think 100 was quite possible, I could have just kept playing with the timing. The last figure was where I stopped playing, not finished tuning...

I stopped where I was on the dyno as I was concerend that the pistons where designed for 69hp, not 200 unfortunately...

I know I'm new here but that is the sweetest and most "compact" setup I've seen on this site. The The filter, carb, turbo, and exhaust is all right there on the same side of the car and there's no pipes winding all over engine bay just to make the whole thing fit.
SWEEEEEEET!!!!!

having built a couple of A series turbo setups, I'm not surprised at the power output. It looks to be a good little setup. Personally, I'm surprised how little power some other A series turbos setups make...

Thanks L18, I was surprised at the power figure initially myself as a few people have doubted the figures, which to be honest doesnt surpise me... not because there doubters, but because I was surprised myself!!

Im keen to put an A15 bottom end under it and see how that goes now

My apologies....

I have just rechecked the timing as I was sure it wasnt right... and it wasnt...

It had a pulley with all the timing marks on it and a timing cover with all the marks on it, I read the first line on the pulley as being TDC, where in fact its actually the last line.

Taking that into consideration the timing is more likely to be around 25degrees btdc...

are you using stock head gasket and rings?

i've killed a couple of sets of rings lately by running over 10psi

on a very good condition rebuilt a15 the rings lasted less than a week at 15psi...

you would want to be careful with the amount of boost is all i'm saying, i havent done a head gasket yet but i know others have at over 10psi also

it is so much more fun when it lasts long enough to get used to cruising around in it

although mines always been a daily driver, what is your car, is it registered?

It could be that the Dyno reads a bit high as well.
Some dynos read higher than others do...

Yea its all stock, rings, head gasket etc.

Its not a daily driver, I only use the car for club sprints etc (although it does get the occasional lap around the block if Im trying something)

I have done 5 test days on it now, this incorporates 5 20min sessions. So if you could imagine trying your hardest to blow it up for an hour... 5 times... thats what its been through plus dyno time.

I think Dyno time is a little concerning, as your sitting there and it sounds like its trying to blow itself apart. Probably more noticable on the dyno as your not driving hanging on for dear life

My new A12turbo project is going to be for road use, so we'll see how long that lasts...

Yea the dyno could be reading high... it could also be reading low?? It actually has a reputation of being a little on the low side if anything...?

In all honesty im not here to get a pat on the back for the horsepower. If it helps others to enjoy the thrill of making something that you cant buy and it works well thats enough for me. Where all here because we love playing with our Datos
