I remade mine from MDF, with the edges routered off, then sealed and painted with gloss enamel, looked the goods.
Just another option.

MDF weighs bugger all mate. Especially a piece that size and you can get it in different thicknesses.Though some of us would rather go original i guess, I Know i would. However at the end of the day MDF one will do for Registration purposes and can hunt for one and be on the road.

Yeah those bloody things, the plastic seems to weather a lot faster than any of the other interior plastics... mines great, but cant say I have seen many that are either there or in good knick...

Hey Mitch Hows things bud ? Picked up the sedan On Thursday drove it back. One of the downfalls of buying something on trust and sight unseen is that its never as good as they say it is. She has little more rust than they let on and a few dents on the roof which someone failed to tell me about Anyway got a mate who is a panel beater took it to him yesterday since i cant weld but i can do all other aspects of panel and paint. He just said to me cut the rust out that you want plated and drop it in and hes going to plate it all and give it back to me to smooth off and prime for paint So that will save me a fair bit. Anyway its a 1970 model what else do i expect and it has a lot of good points good interior comfy seats out of a Subaru latish model it got me From Albury to Armidale over 1000K's and didn't miss a beat Thats Datto's for ya. Drove for six hours non stop at one point. Hows having the lady back ?
