Hi Dave
Sunny's are excellent cars (I'm actually looking for one myself at present). The main difference IMHO is that the Sunny is a little bigger and heavier.

A Sunny would make a great daily while you work on your 1200.

Sunny (1979-1982 Datsun B310) is the next best thing to a 1200 (1970-1973 Datsun B110). It is larger and softer riding, but weighs no more than a B210.

Certainly a bit fatter than a 1200,but heaps of room under the bonnet, and with what is basically a four link rear end.....lots of plusses with a sunny with rust not normally a problem.

We have faith here as we are doing a new Sports Sedan Sunny(very slowly)

good question, I think about this myself sometimes. As an owner of both, I think the sunny is a much improved car over the 1200, except in the looks department. As a daily hack I would take the sunny. For competition however, you just can't ignore the fact that the sunny is over 100kg heavier- that's a lot. Plus the looks factor again! Don't get me wrong sunny's are fantastic cars and parts are still quite readily available which in my case (rally) is a big plus.

Out of interest how do the Sunnys handle compared with a 1200?

I imagine with a more sophisticated rear end they might corner a bit better?

B110 handles better, but the B310 has a more comfortable ride. 1200 just needs a wider tire. Some B310 came with 175-wide 13" tires, but the 12"-tyred B310 was no special thing.

after 4 years driving a b310 daily i can say that it has a good hadling in turns. i did enter a roundabout @ 50mph and the car was stable and reliable. they ve got a cute look to. i will post more info once my sunny (b310) gtir will be more advanced since it is still in early stages and certain things are being tested and to be decided.
